Inviting all interested parents, caregivers, and educators of children in DASD and surrounding areas
Downingtown Area Gifted Education Network Monthly Meeting 7:00* pm to 8:30 pm, at the DASD Trestle Building
540 Trestle Place, Downingtown, PA 19335
The Downingtown Area Gifted Education Netork (DAGEN) is excited to welcome Deb Kearney, DASD ELA Curriculum Leader for K- 12, and LMS ELA teacher. Deb will give parents an overview of our ELA curric- ulum and answer any questions about enrichment for the identified gifted stu- dent. As parents, it helps to understand the ELA curriculum overall so we can understand how it is enriched for the high-ability student. There are many factors at work, from state standards to professional development of teach- ers. Grasping the bigger picture will only help you be a better partner on your child’s GIEP team. Carrie Dickmann, Special Education Supervisor over gifted support services, will also be on hand to answer any questions.
For any questions regarding this meeting, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Childcare is not provided, but any children are welcome to attend with their parent if they can work or play quietly. DAGEN events are open to anyone, re- gardless if your have a child receiving gifted support services in DASD or not. Please feel free to attend if you want to learn about gifted support services in DASD, and are curious if they would be applicable to your child.
